Artic Therm International

Attention: Shauna Holmes

I contacted Artic Therm in early August to quote drying activities for pipeline delivery/receipt facilities (TransCanada pipeline from the Brion Energy site) in Fort MacKay. Artic Therm was contracted to dry facility pipeline to a 0°C dew point on various sizes of pipe ranging from 4” to 12” NPS.  They provided an engineering report to calculate the time it will take to reach this dew point with the given pipe sizes and airflow, assuming typical ambient temperature and relative humidity factors.

Throughout the project, there was excellent cooperation between Artic Therm, the Superintendents, and the other crews working on site simultaneously. Each job site was only about 5000m2 with over 20 workers on various disciplines. Arctic Therm was able to adapt to changes made to the scope of the job due to last minute temperature requirements, and achieved the results we were looking for.  Their equipment was able to maintain a steady temperature and airflow, and reach the necessary dew points to move forward with nitrogen purge. Arctic Therm were professional and very customer oriented; each day Bill would send me a photo of his dew point reader to advise the drying progress overnight. They were able to record dew point and temperature and provide professional reports for our QC turnover package.

Artic Therm’s performance on the project for TransCanada was a success. As a result of this collaborative team effort, the project was completed with exceptional quality and was delivered on-time, within budget, and with no safety incidents.  Whaler looks forward to working with Artic Therm in the future.
